WWE SummerSlam 2018: 3 Possible Opponents for Randy Orton

1. Shinsuke Nakamura

When Orton made his return to the WWE at Extreme Rules, it was clear that it was his intention to go after the US title belt.

The former WWE champion may have attacked Jeff Hardy at the show, but it was his post-match staredown with Shinsuke Nakamura that really grabbed the fans’ attention and having the two men clash over the belt at SummerSlam is a sure-fire way to put bums in seats.

Nakamura’s consecutive defeats at the hands of AJ Styles damaged his credibility somewhat, and his US title run could be just what he needs to really establish himself as the top heel on Tuesday nights.

While Orton may not be the draw that he used to be, he is still considered one of the top stars in the company, and having Nakamura go over him clean at SummerSlam would certainly help the former King of Strong Style climb his way back up the ladder.

The two men have met once before, on an episode of SmackDown last year, and it proved to be one of Nakamura’s best matches on the main roster. Given enough time, there is no doubt in my mind that the two men could go on to top that at WWE SummerSlam 2018.
