16. Bayley (last week: not ranked)

15. Sasha Banks (last week: not ranked)

Oh boy, we’re back to this again. The added wrinkle this time around? After everything each superstar has done to the other, Sasha admits she loves Bayley. Say what?

Before anyone loses their minds over this, I think it’s pretty clear that Sasha means love like between two sisters. WWE is trying to be more progressive, but I don’t think they’re at the point of pulling off a Golden Lovers-type program. Maybe somewhere down the road, but today? It would be a major disaster, tone deaf beyond belief.

This week on Raw, Kurt Angle decided to force Sasha and Bayley to team up, and if they couldn’t coexist one would be traded to SmackDown. You had to know things would work out, because we can’t unbalance the Four Horsewomen by having three on SmackDown.

During the match against Dana Brooke and Alicia Fox, Bayley does the majority of the work, until she gets caught up by the numbers game. Surprisingly, Sasha makes the save — earning a disqualification in the process. But once the situation is under control, Sasha calmly walks away.

The promo segment was incredibly awkward, possibly because the material is emotionally charged. If you don’t really believe what you’re trying to say, it won’t sound truthful. George Costanza once said, “It’s not a lie if you believe it,” and there’s an element of truth to that. But it works the other way, too: it’s not a truth if you don’t believe it.
