Upcoming Matches, and the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship

Josiah MacDonald: You have a match coming up with Silas Young at the ROH TV tapings in Atlanta on Saturday. What do you have to say about that match?

Flip Gordon: The last time I shared the ring with Silas Young, some people said it was the best match I had in my career. I’m looking forward to getting in there with him. It’s been a few months, and I’ve learned a lot since then. I’ve been to Japan, Mexico, and I’m going to take everything I learned and apply it to take it to the Last Real Man.

JMD: Finally, you have a shot at the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship coming up. What does it feel like to challenge for one of the most prestigious titles in wrestling, that the likes of Ric Flair has held? And do you have some words for Nick Aldis?

FG: To win the championship that Dusty Rhodes has held. Cody’s father. The common man, the son of a plumber! And I have the opportunity to win it before Cody. If I win that championship. I get booked for All In. It’s the perfect story. It’s the perfect ending to the Book Flip story. Tomorrow night, I am going to do everything in my power and leave everything in that ring, and apply everything that I have learned against Nick Aldis to become the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.

JMD: If you win, you’ll be booked at All In, and you’ll be facing Cody. What do you think about that?

FG: I think it’s about time. I think it’s about time I get some revenge, and that it’s time for me to step to the man himself that is making my life a living hell. There is no better place to step up to that man than All In, his own show, to finally shut him up.

JMD: Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to talk with us today. It was a pleasure talking to you, and hopefully we can do it again sometime.

FG: No problem! Thank you, I appreciate it.
