The last episode of Impact Wrestling before Slammiversary took place, and Joe Hendry made his case as a future Impact World Champion by pinning Eli Drake.

At Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary, all the titles will be defended in what should be one of the most exciting Pay Per Views of 2018. Although Joe Hendry won’t have a match at the show, his surprise victory over Eli Drake on the go-home episode of Impact Television was one of the highlights of the week. For that reason, he appears on our power rankings for the first time in his career with the company.

10. Joe Hendry

“The Prestigious One” has always been one of the most promising professional wrestlers on the planet, and his work with Kurt Angle in WCPW really caught my eye a couple of years ago. Since then, Hendry has only increased his star power, to the point where he is now considered a guy who could be “the future” of Impact.

Hendry’s surprise victor over Eli Drake took place after he countered a “Gravy Train” into a clever roll-up. His beef with Drake certainly isn’t over after this victory, but what’s even more intriguing is his current storyline with Grado and Katarina Waters. Clearly, he and Waters have something going on, as Waters has no interest in Grado. However, she was touching Hendry an awful lot during the photo shoot, so Drake wasn’t wrong when he warned Grado that there’s something going on between them.

9. Killer Kross

Man, Kross’s win over Petey Williams was uncomfortable to watch, because he just kept goading the babyface and beating him around the ring. There was absolutely nothing Williams could do about it, and it’s rare that you see him look so helpless in the ring. That is the power of Killer Kross, who even urged Williams to deliver a Canadian Destroyer, knowing full well that the former X Division Champion had absolutely nothing left in the tank.
