Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: Joe Hendry Ready To Be The Future
2. Su Yung, Knockouts Champion
The Undead Bride defeated Allie for the Knockouts Championship on the Impact Television special “Under Pressure”, and she’ll likely retain the title in her first real defense at Slammiversary against Madison Rayne. But Rayne is on a hot streak, having beaten Tessa Blanchard twice and Taya Valkyrie once. Those are two of the best competitors around, and Rayne is a battle-tested, five-time Knockouts Champion.
Sensing the strength of her opponent, Yung seems scared, just based on how many times she’s tried to get inside Rayne’s head in the lead-up to her title defense at Slammiversary. Yung is the favorite, but only marginally so due to the champion’s advantage in title matches. This battle has the potential to steal the show, but is it really stealing the show if the Knockouts Division has always been the best part of Impact?
1. Austin Aries, Impact World Champion
Austin Aries’s character work has been top-notch as a champion, and it’s been fun watching him heel it up ever since he legit stole a win from Pentagon Jr. at Under Pressure. Moose doesn’t scare Aries, because Aries has never backed down from a fight against a bigger, more athletic opponent. Although Moose has legit tools, Aries is one of the trickiest and gutsiest wrestlers in the world.

Most people expect Aries to continue to hold this title after Slammiversary – and hold it tight. While Moose has a great chance of winning, the fact that it would be an upset just speaks volumes to how well Aries has entrenched himself in his latest run with Impact Wrestling.
