ROH Honor For All 2018: Nick Aldis vs. Flip Gordon Results And Grades
Matt Taven came out and cut a promo. Taven came out and said he was dressed like he was because he’s sexy. He claimed that he is the uncrowned world champion, and that he is now holding the real ROH World Championship. Taven then said he wasn’t going to unveil the championship he had in his hands in a town like Nashville. Taven claimed that Marty doesn’t deserve a shot against the real world champion, and he needed to work his way back up to the top.
Vinny Marseglia (The Kingdom) vs. Marty Scurll (Bullet Club Elite)
Marty Scurll opened the match with some great chain wrestling and a shoulder block that sent Vinny to the mat. Marseglia tried to keep up, but Marty was seemingly two steps ahead in the opening portions of this match. Marty went for a surf board stretch, but instead of pulling Vinny’s arms, he pulled Vinny’s hair. Marty went to hit his superkick off the apron, but Vinny slid under the ring, and came out on the other side and knocked Marty off the apron before he could figure out what happened.
Vinny sent Marty flying into the guardrail and then both men began to fight on the floor. Vinny started stomping Marty back in the ring, and the heat segment of this match began. Marseglia grabbed a balloon and popped it directly in Marty’s ear. That looked unpleasant. Marty and Marseglia started a test of strength, and Marty was able to win it. He ducked down and sent Vinny to the outside of the ring before hitting his apron superkick.
Marty Scurll hit a big superplex back into the ring. Marty went for a tornado DDT, but Marseglia countered and hit a flying headscissors into a Russian leg sweep. Vinny went for a clothesline, but Marty ducked and hit a lariat. Marty was unable to suplex Vinny, as his back seems to be injured. Marty decided not to take no for an answer, and hit a brainbuster. Vinny kicked out.
Scurll went to break Vinny’s fingers, and he begged Marty to do it. This threw Marty off, so he rolled Marty up, but Marty kicked out. Vinny hit a sling blade, but Marty kicked out again. Marseglia hit a backbreaker, and continued to work over Marty’s back. Somehow, Marty managed to hit a piledriver, by Marseglia kicked out again. Marty went to break Vinny’s fingers again, but Vinny countered. Vinny went for a Swanton, but Marty got the knees up and hit an uppercut. Marty countered a headscissors into a Russian leg sweep by locking Vinny in the Chicken Wing Crossface! Vinny tapped out!

After the bell, Taven ran down to the ring and attacked Marty Scurll. TK O’Ryan got involved too. Cody’s music hit and he made the save, attacking all three members of The Kingdom. The babyface fire that Cody showed here was so awesome. Cody was stomping a hole in Taven in the corner when the rest of the Kingdom separated them, and security ran down and a pull apart brawl started between Scurll and Cody against The Kingdom!
