She’s Has Potential to be a Draw

If you look back at the names on TNA/Impact’s list of alumni, it’s silly to think no one figured out a way to legitimately compete against WWE. Granted, there are no major wrestling companies that can really go head-to-head with WWE. But, that doesn’t let them off the hook for dropping the ball on multiple occasions.

The alumni point is key in this case for Tessa’s victory on Sunday. So much of the talent that has worked for this company were ex-WWE. There are some originals that you could consider “homegrown” though.

AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, and EC3 – ironically all of which are now in WWE. But it was routine for a future-endeavored star to show up in the Impact Zone and become champion within just a few weeks. Those kinds of creative decisions do little favors for talent, the audience, and the creation of any new stars.

This latest reboot of Impact has done such an efficient job of bringing in top independent talent that hasn’t entirely made it to the big time. Names like Moose, Cage, and even Fenix are all, for lack of a better term, indie darlings are being given a platform to wrestle on weekly television.

The Queen of the Carolinas fits that mold. Each has the opportunity to bring new sets of eyes to the product, while also being able to connect with a broader audience on a regular basis. With the right opportunity, Blanchard could cultivate a significant following and help generate ratings, revenue, and other top talents to continue to help bolster the brand.
