WWE SummerSlam 2018 Match Card Predictions Version 1.0

AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe For The WWE Championship
The Phenomenal One vs. The Samoan Submission Machine! AJ Styles has been WWE Champion for approximately 260 days, for he has held the title since November when he dethroned the Modern Day Maharajah, Jinder Mahal. Check out the link below from WWE’s Youtube page that displays AJ Styles’ second WWE title victory:
After that unforgettable victory on SmackDown Live, he retained his WWE title in many separate occasions throughout the course of the calendar year:
(1) He won his rematch against Mahal at Clash of Champions to end 2017 as WWE Champion.
(2) He defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a handicap match at the Royal Rumble.
(3) He survived the odds in a six-pack challenge against Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and John Cena at Fastlane.
(4) He defeated 2018 Royal Rumble Winner Shinsuke Nakamura at the grandest stage of them all: WrestleMania.
(5) After two consecutive inconclusive draws at Backlash and The Greatest Royal Rumble, he defeated Nakamura again in a Last Man Standing Match at Money in the Bank to end the rivalry once and for all.
(6) He defeated Rusev at Extreme Rules to go into SummerSlam as the WWE Champion.
Albeit his lengthy, momentous, and phenomenal title reign, there’s a top-notch heel on SmackDown Live that he has not yet defeated: Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles is a dream match in the making, and it’s the biggest draw SmackDown can offer to the WWE fanbase. When Paige announces the opponent for Styles, I sure hope it’s Joe. He is being severely misused on the SmackDown brand, and it’s time for him to move on from his disappointing losses and meaningless feuds in order to step foot through the doors of Styles’ house and destroy what was built.
This is what he came to the main roster to do: divide and conquer. Joe is a superstar that deserves to be remembered and never forgotten. He is a vital asset to SmackDown Live, and he absolutely belongs in the main card title picture no matter what critics may say. To retort those critics, try to remember his main card title feud with Brock Lesnar by checking out the link below from WWE’s YouTube page:
The intensity and enthusiasm that Joe brings to the table is unreal. Paul Heyman usually speaks on Brock’s behalf, but Joe made Brock speak for himself, which not a lot of people can do. He brought out the best in Brock’s character and interest in the feud itself.
This goes to show that Joe is certainly main event material and can hang with main event talent. It’s time for Joe to get a WWE title shot. Most importantly, it’s time for him to become the WWE Champion. Styles has had the championship long enough, and I can definitely foresee Joe taking the title home with him at SummerSlam if he is the opponent Paige announces on SmackDown Live.
Prediction: Samoa Joe
