Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton In A Triple Threat Match For The United States Championship

The King of Strong Style vs. The Charismatic Enigma vs. The Apex Predator! Shinsuke Nakamura and Jeff Hardy have had an interesting mid card feud, but veteran Randy Orton has turned the feud into high gear. The best part about this triple threat feud has been Orton’s heel turn, for he has become more dangerous and vicious than he has ever been.

He low-blowed Hardy at Extreme Rules and was brutally pulling off his ear on the following SmackDown Live. Orton has certainly gone to another place, and it will speak volumes in this potential United States title match. Albeit his exciting return and very thrilling heel run thus far, I don’t see him winning the United States title for a second time at SummerSlam.

In Hardy’s case, he is the only babyface in this feud and is pretty much the fan favorite in this saga. However, there is continuous speculation that he is working an injury and may need to take some time off. On top of that, if he were to win the U.S. title back, a rematch between him and Nakamura would not be the best booking decision available.

Due to these reasons, I still foresee Nakamura retaining his U.S. title at SummerSlam. Also, he recently won his very first title on the main roster, and it would be terrible to take it away from him so soon without giving his reign a legitimate chance. All in all, Nakamura has been a very crafty heel as of late, and it will be worthwhile to watch him tear up the mid card division on SmackDown Live as he receives challenges from brand new opponents after SummerSlam.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura
