4. Samoa Joe Should Not Be ANNOUNCED As AJ Styles’ SummerSlam Opponent

Next week, on SmackDown Live, Paige is supposed to announce the world and AJ Styles who his challenger for the WWE Championship will be at SummerSlam.

A lot of fans, myself included, expect Paige to announce Joe as said challenger. After all, Joe has been on a tear in the ring and on the mic since moving to the blue brand and has made it clear that his intention is to take the belt off of AJ Styles. Oh, and that would be an absolute blockbuster capable of main eventing Summerslam.

So, why do I think Samoa Joe shouldn’t be announced as Styles’ opponent. Well, there was one thing that Joe said when he came to SmackDown Live that got my attention. He said that SmackDown Live was the land of handouts and that he was going to TAKE his opportunities.

I believe that Joe will get nothing and take everything, which will lead to another Superstar being announced as AJ Styles’ opponent. Let’s say Paige believes Rusev deserves a rematch at SummerSlam.

Well, I want Samoa Joe to come out, cut a vicious promo, and then completely take Rusev (or whoever the challenger is) out of commission with a brutal beatdown. That way he can TAKE that opportunity and force Paige’s hand and get himself a match against AJ Styles at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship.

Then, we can see those two tear down the house and steal the show. Samoa Joe is the right guy, but an announcement isn’t the best way to present him as a challenger.
