Slammiversary 2018: Ranking Each Match By Expected Quality
2. Austin Aries vs. Moose- Impact World Championship Match
Another match where the heel is the smaller of the two wrestlers. However, Aries is one of the smarter workers in the industry, so I expect that he’ll come up with a creative way to get heat. Of course, it won’t be that hard working opposite one of the most popular acts in the company.
Moose has his limitations in the ring, but he does a nice job working a big man style that meshed perfectly with the agile and technically sound Aries. I have no doubt that “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” will go above and beyond to make Moose look good.
This match will probably close the show, so I imagine that Aries and Moose will get plenty of time to craft a match worthy of its main event status. There’s a chance that these two could fall short of expectations, but that will depend on how good fans thought this one would be.
If you’re expecting a match of the year classic from these two, then you’re probably expecting too much. But I think Aries and Moose will deliver an acceptable main event match. I think that one match on this card might overshadow these men’s efforts.
