1. Sami Callihan vs. Pentagon Jr.- Mask vs. Hair Match

The build for this feud has been so great. Even though he’s garnered most of his heat from a reckless botched bat shot and acted like he did it on purpose, Callihan has been excellent playing the role of the unhinged anarchist that bucks authority and, in the case of Pentagon Jr. and his lucha libre background, tradition. I’m a little shocked that this match did get a no-disqualification stip added to it, but the bookers may have thought that three garbage matches would have been overkill (they thought right).

Pentagon used his notorious arm breaking spot that he became famous for in Lucha Underground to take out the Crist brothers, meaning that this one will be a one-on-one encounter.

If oVe does show up, I expect Pentagon’s brother Fenix to show up and repel the Ohio boys. Outside of that, I expect a really entertaining brawl between these two. However, the Impact bookers need to be careful.

With at least two other matches that project to be brawl-heavy, the audience could become a bit numb to some of the action. If this match gets placed too close to the LAX match or the hardcore match, it could get lost in the shuffle.

That said, Callihan and Pentagon are talented enough to make their match feel unique from the other matches, so I expect this one to stand out in a good way. Combine that with the hair vs. mask stip, and I think this will be the match of the night.
