*sigh*
That’s it, no better headline for this. There’s so much garbage in this segment, I can’t believe anyone thought this would make anyone look good. Kevin Owens does his best, but he delivered the best babyface “doing it for my family” promo of the past 20 years as a top heel on Raw. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Let’s start with Elias, out again to promote his album. He gets a bit farther this time, but dude, it’s hard enough for a musician these days anyway. Can’t the guy get an actual segment to promote an album that WWE itself produced and would probably want to make money off of?
Then Braun’s interruption was for a rambling, incoherent response to the actions of the past few weeks. At one point, he came close to making a rational thought, but we’re still doing this whole “cAn YoU bElIeVe ThE wOmEn ArE wReStLiNg?” Spongebob meme. He congratulates Alexa Bliss, which is cute, but it’s pointless.
When Braun moves on to the Universal Championship picture, he’s interrupted by Peak Dad Kevin Owens. After a fired up promo, out comes Constable Corbin, who technically should have no power since he acts for Stephanie McMahon in absentia. She’s in the building — why is Baron still out there? Ah, yes, REASONS.
Corbin says he’s found someone to help Braun’s “anger problem,” and it’s Jinder Mahal. Brilliant decision /s. Jinder tries to get Braun to meditate, but c’mon. Everyone knew how this segment was going to end, and thankfully, it finally did.
Like I said, Owens almost looks good at the end of this, but his actions are those of a babyface, not a heel. It’s so far out of alignment that it almost makes sense from a satirical point of view. But this was just terrible.
