4. Andrade Cien Almas vs. Rusev

Rusev Day never shined brighter than when The Bulgarian Brute received a WWE Championship opportunity at Extreme Rules.  But in the days that have followed the event, Rusev is still trying to pick up the pieces from a tough loss and the potential loss of a key component of Rusev Day.

Aiden English has stood beside Rusev throughout the entire Rusev Day gimmick, but his ambition inadvertently cost Rusev his match with AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.  The duo isn’t seeing eye to eye at the moment, but Rusev still had to take care of business last night when he went up against Andrade Cien Almas in the first match of the night.

The outside shenanigans of Lana and Zelina Vega on the outside would eventually play a role, but as far as the match quality itself, it was solid from start to finish.  Both men really looked impressive at times and showed why they are two of the biggest stars on Tuesday nights.  However, the finish wouldn’t go as Rusev planned.

Lana and Vega got into it on the outside, causing English to come out to help Lana by restraining her.  But English was inadvertently pushed into Lana, distracting Rusev in the process.  That distraction was all Almas needed and he made Rusev pay by getting the big win.  Tensions continued to mount backstage between Rusev, Lana, and English with the future of Rusev Day being in question.

But despite a screwy finish of sorts, this was a solid match that would be great to see again under slightly different circumstances.

Final Grade: B
