Braun Strowman vs. Jinder Mahal (w/ Sunil Singh)
Result: Jinder Mahal defeated Braun Strowman via count out
Rating: -5 out of 5 stars
I’m in need of some new metaphors for garbage segments and matches. I feel like I’ve used “dumpster fire” and “train wreck” way too many times. And while WWE seems to be okay with stale programming, I like to keep things fresh.
Why do I bring this up now? Oh, I think you know. Jinder spent the entire 30 seconds of the match doing his deep breathing thing. Braun forgot he was in the middle of a match. Kevin Owens had the worst possible plan in the world, especially considering he was just told he had no recourse by Corbin. Sunil Singh couldn’t avoid the largest competitor on the roster. And Kevin Dunn and his terrible television production skills missed one of literally two wrestling moves in the match.
I just don’t know what is going on here. Did WWE just have Strowman win the case at MITB because “it would be a shock”? There’s no reason for him to have it, and it seems that there’s no plan for him with it. Hence, the match with Owens at SummerSlam.
But tonight? Did Braun think possession determined who could use the contract? Just because Owens stole the case doesn’t mean he can use the contract. That was literally what Baron Corbin just told Owens. Jeez, Braun, win the match, then chase down KO.
I’m not even going into how far Jinder has fallen since he’s been back on Raw. It’s too depressing.
