2. WrestleMania 31 Main Event

After his win at SummerSlam in 2014, Brock Lesnar held the WWE Championship until WrestleMania 31. During the intervening period, Roman Reigns had begun the push that still irk’s fans to this day, and had earned the right to face Lesnar at ‘Mania after winning the Royal Rumble. The build to the main event was lacklustre and fans were unconvinced that Reigns was deserving of such a lofty spot on the card.

WrestleMania 31 had already been a stellar event by the time the WWE Championship match rolled around, but expectations were still low for the main event. Lesnar and Reigns defied the odds and delivered an outstanding performance that even included Lesnar being bloodied after a collision with the ring post. It was also during this match that Lesnar coined the phrase, “Suplex City, bitch!!!” and became a de facto babyface in the process.

Of course this match will be remembered for what is probably the greatest Money in the Bank cash-in of all-time. As Reigns looked poised to cause a huge upset and dethrone Lesnar, Seth Rollins entered the fray and cashed in his contract. After delivering a Curb Stomp to Reigns, he left the match as WWE Champion in a truly iconic moment that Lesnar played a huge role in.
