4. The Bar vs. The Usos
Anytime two of the best tag teams in the WWE go at it, things are bound to get interesting. And the same thing could be said last night when two of the most successful tag teams in the WWE over the past few years squared off in a high stakes match.
In another tag team title tournament matchup, The Bar took part in its first match on SmackDown in quite a while against The Usos with the winner of the match going on to face The New Day next week for the right to battle The Bludgeon Brothers at SummerSlam for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. This match would live up to what most thought it could be from the start.
Sheamus and Cesaro had a great game plan to cut the ring in half and isolate Jimmy and Jey from each other like any great tag team would do. But that would only last for so long when The Usos got things rolling in their favor. The action really picked up towards the end with a couple of close near falls where it looked like The Usos had the match won.
But The Bar had other ideas and a rather frantic ending led to Sheamus and Cesaro getting the big win and advancing to the finals of the tag team title tournament next week to battle The New Day, who was on commentary for the match and went face to face with The Bar after the match was over. This was a very good match between two of the best tag teams in the WWE and either team would have been a great choice to advance.
They are The Bar and they are one step closer to a potential showdown with The Bludgeon Brothers if they can handle The New Day next week.
Final Grade: A-
