IMPACT: Everything About The LAX Faction War
Who doesn’t love a good faction war? While the Bullet Club have been in shambles for quite some time, the recent fracturing of LAX, provided by “The King”, has been even more entertaining. Not many storylines in wrestling have made me more invested in the action than LAX’s feud, since it has featured tremendous promos and video packages to go with a barn-burner of a match at Slammiversary.
Homicide and Hernandez showed that that the OGz still have it, but by winning, Santana and Ortiz made a more powerful statement about loyalty and heart. Those two showed a side we haven’t seen from them in a while, and Konnan played the role of brilliant strategist here. The King obviously isn’t done, so it will be interesting to see what tactics he resorts to after the OGz loss.
NJPW: Juice Wins The US Title
Juice Robinson has legitimately become one of the best wrestlers on the planet in 2018, building on the momentum he started in 2017. It’s hard to believe that he was once a “hippy” in NXT, since he’s become one of wrestling’s best promos, in addition to being a proficient technical wrestler.
At the NJPW G1 Special in San Francisco, Robinson pulled off one of the marquee victories of the year by defeating Jay White for the IWGP United States Championship. That’s no easy feat. The finish to this match was tremendous, and it’s incredible how much the audience has bought into Robinson as a babyface. Let’s just say I have a feeling this won’t be his only “big” win.
