Ranking The Top 50 WWE, NJPW, ROH, Impact Wrestling Moments Of July 2018
WOH/IMPACT: Madison Rayne Has Two Title Opportunities
I’m not going to hide the fact that I am a huge fan of Madison Rayne, who has been one of the most important members of the Knockouts Division throughout its history as a five-time champion. She had a chance to make it six times running at Slammiversary against Su Yung, and while she came up short, she sold like a champ during that creepy match.
What makes her work at Slammiversary even more impressive is the fact that Rayne received another title opportunity the night before. Except this title opportunity was for Sumie Sakai’s Women of Honor Championship at the July 21 Ring of Honor TV Tapings in Atlanta.
Rayne has worked as hard as anyone since returning to the ring, and it’s awesome that she’s become the latest standout wrestler to help further the connection between ROH and NJPW. Like Austin Aries, she has plenty of history with ROH, so it was no surprise that they were willing to work with her, too. You know, beyond the fact that any sane promotion would want to work with someone like Rayne, who is someone WWE fans would love to see in the Mae Young Classic.
WWE: Elias Releases His Album
We’ve known for months that “WWE” actually stands for “Walk With Elias”, and now you can have the message of Elias’s greatness driven into your eardrums repeatedly by purchasing his debut album. His EP, the appropriately named “Walk With Elias”, is available on the iTunes store and Spotify. All four songs cost $2.99, and Elias’s album is already a top seller. That comes as no surprise, because this man is seriously talented.
