Ranking The Top 50 WWE, NJPW, ROH, Impact Wrestling Moments Of July 2018
NJPW: People Really, Really Despise Jay White
Everyone’s “favorite” knife pervert, Jay White, showed his potential earlier this year in a United States Championship match against Kenny Omega, as he defeated Omega for the belt at New Beginning in Sapporo. Juice Robinson would take the title off of White in July, which will appear on this list, but White didn’t exactly lose momentum after the loss.
Far, far from it. In fact, White has been the biggest breakout star during the G1 Climax, racking up massive victories over Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi, whom he lost to at Wrestle Kingdom 12. More importantly, White has become the most hated man in the company, earning raucous reactions from the crowd, proving that NJPW made the right choice in making “Switchblade” one of its showcased performers.
And now, White reminds me of that Slipknot song “I Am Hated”, because even though I really like him, I can’t help but hate him, too. After all, he had some extremely NSFW words about “Internet fans” such as myself!
No lie, he’s giving Tommaso Ciampa a run for his money in terms of heat.
NJPW: Tomohiro Ishii vs. Hirooki Goto
Ishii and Goto are two of the most beloved wrestlers in the world, and when they clashed on Day 6 of the G1 Climax, you didn’t have to suspend disbelief at a wrestling match. No, they suspended it for you, delivering one of the most hard-hitting wrestling matches of 2018. I mean, what else did you expect from a match between these two?
If you have an NJPW World subscription and like watching two big, fearless dudes hitting each other as hard as they can, then please watch this match. It was one of the best bouts of the G1, and that’s saying something, given the quality of this tournament.
