WWE: Rusev vs. AJ Styles

Many of us waited a long time for Rusev to finally get an opportunity at a world title, and he made the most out of his chance to capture the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules (aside from winning the damn thing, of course).

AJ Styles and Rusev stole the show from the main event, which wasn’t easy to do, considering it was an Ironman match between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins for the most prestigious belt in WWE (the Intercontinental Championship, damn it!)

A hot crowd, a lovely story, and a strong performance from Rusev hopefully showed WWE that they need to keep feeding the Bulgarian George Clooney marquee matches. Rusev is a star, and at Extreme Rules, he was the crowning jewel of the show.

WWE: Becky Lynch Is As Determined As Ever

After Becky Lynch forced Mandy Rose to tap out to the Dis-Arm-Her, she grabbed the microphone and cut one of the most impassioned post-match promos of the year. For a brief minute, wrestling in WWE felt real, because you could tell Lynch was speaking from the heart when she spoke about the obstacles in her way and how much being a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion would mean to her.

Becky called out Carmella, who will likely be her opponent for the title at SummerSlam. “Straight Fire” is coming for the Princess of Staten Island, and Carmella had better be shaking in her boots.

Meanwhile, Becky continues to be one of WWE’s best babyfaces promos, and it’s amazing how much better a promo is when the speaker just lets words flow freely from their heart.
