NXT: Kairi Sane
Shayna Baszler has been an awesome women’s champion on NXT but it is only a matter of time before the main roster comes calling, and if the company do decide to go with the horsewomen headlining Evolution, it stands to reason that Baszler won’t be holding the NXT belt.
Baszler and Sane are set to meet in what promises to be an excellent encounter at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV in a few weeks time, and Sane winning the belt would no doubt be one of the night’s feel-good moments.
Since winning the original Mae Young Classic, Sane has floated about between several mid-cards feud on NXT but has not been involved in any major storylines. With the second Mae Young Classic final taking place at Evolution, the company will no doubt want to make sure Sane is in a great position so that they can further put over the winner of this year’s tournament.
Not only that, but Sane is one of the most competent performers on the NXT roster and she is a safe pair of hands to entrust with one of the night’s biggest matches. Her high-flying and exciting in-ring style may also help grab some attention towards the brand as well.
