2. Dean Ambrose and Jason Jordan both make their return.
Dean Ambrose making an in-ring return at SummerSlam seems far-fetched. The Lunatic Fringe has been out with a triceps injury and fans have been speculating nonstop about his eventual return. Will he return as a babyface or as a demented heel? Will he feud with either Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns or reunite the Shield once more? The questions are plenty.
However, there is another man who seems to have been cleared for a return already. That man is Jason Jordan. It is evident that creative is holding off on his return for some reason. Perhaps they are waiting for the right moment. SummerSlam could be the best time to bring him back. So how does Dean Ambrose factor into all this?
Seth Rollins will be fighting Dolph Ziggler for the Inter Continental Championship come August 19th. While the Architect can hang in the ring with the best of the best, the numbers game in this feud has continuous been a problem for Rollins. Drew McIntyre’s presence has gotten the better of him time and time again. Both Ambrose and Jordan are credible names to bring back at SummerSlam to watch Rollins’s back.
Imagine that Rollins says he’s got someone to watch his back come SummerSlam. The crowd would go nuts, expecting Dean Ambrose to make his return. But instead, Jordan would come out, much to the dismay of the crowd. Then, as the match progresses, Rollins is able to hang in the ring thanks to someone else watching his back against McIntyre’s interference. As the match heats up and the action breaks loose, the heels manage to get the better of Rollins once again, thanks to a screw up by Jordan, which was an ongoing narrative before he got injured.
But it doesn’t stop there. McIntyre wants to end the problem called Seth Rollins then and there. He would attempt to injure Rollins’s knee permanently and that’s when Dean Ambrose’s music hits. The Lunatic Fringe would return withe a steel chair and a kendo stick to make the save. The heels retreat and all is right in the world again.
Except that, in the weeks that follow, Ambrose would find Jordan getting under his skin on more than one occasion. He would eventually snap and beat the living hell out of the Chosen One, kicking off an interim feud with the GM’s son. Rollins would find himself helplessly caught in the crossfire and once when Ambrose had gone too far, the Architect would attempt to stop him and save Jordan.
This would result in the Lunatic Fringe completely losing it and unleashing hell on both Rollins and Jordan, essentially taking out the latter from the feud for good. The two Shield brothers can then go on to work their magic, possibly at WrestleMania. The best part of all this is that Ambrose can continue to be on TV after making his return, without having to compete in the ring. If creative can show enough patience to nurture this feud and let it develop organically, this would a great narrative heading into WrestleMania.
