The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan) vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley

Result: The Riott Squad defeated Sasha Banks & Bayley via pinfall

Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars

In a rematch from last week’s WWE Raw, Banks and Bayley got another chance to show how good of friends they are now. In the early going, they dominated, but some impressive strength displayed by Logan turned the tables pretty quickly.

Most of the match was devoted to Bayley trying to overcome the solid tag work of Morgan and Logan. It’s a good strategy from a production standpoint, since the “rivalry” between Banks and Bayley has always been rooted in Sasha thinking she’s better than Bayely. So to have the Hugger working to not be the weak link it perfect.

The hot tag to Sasha was great, because Sasha is one of the most exciting performers in WWE. I don’t agree with Bayley almost immediately tagging in for tandem offense, but at this late hour time is a factor.

Things got a little chaotic at the end, with a mysterious figure in black — who turned out to be a returning Ruby Riott —  saving Liv Morgan from a flying knee strike by Bayley outside the ring. The distraction allowed Logan to roll up Sasha for the surprise victory, because 50/50 booking rules the still-not-official women’s tag team division as well.

It’s great to have Ruby back, because she’s definitely one of the strongest performers in the division. A lack of friction between Bayley and Banks is somewhat suprising, but not really — despite my wishes to see them finish this feud, they’re sticking together till Evolution in October.

It was a decent little match, but with no definitive end, we’ll likely see it done yet again before too long.
