8. Royal Rumble 2017, Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens, No Disqualification (Universal Championship Match)

Kevin Owens’ reign as Universal Champion was a bit of a mixed bag, but his match with Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2017 was easily his finest moment.

Their no-DQ match had the added stipulation of Chris Jericho hanging above the ring in a shark cage, which provided the match with the perfect combination of brutality and comedy.

The two men beat each other from pillar to post, with several innovative spots taking place in between. Owens would eventually cling on to his Universal belt at the event thanks to a little help from Braun Strowman, before losing it a month later in humiliating fashion to Goldberg at Fastlane.

7. WrestleMania 31, Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar (WWE Championship Match)

Roman Reigns’ clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 is best remembered for its ending, which saw Seth Rollins cash in his Money in the Bank contract and become WWE champion, much to the delight of everyone watching around the world.

While the ending may be what fans remember the most, Lesnar and Reigns had actually managed, against all the odds, to put on a decent Mania main-event, which is easily Reigns’ best Mania outing to date.

Lesnar dominated the early goings, before Reigns rallied back, and looked to have Lesnar in his crosshairs until Rollins cashed in. It was an excellent piece of storytelling, and it’s unfortunate that the WWE couldn’t build on it when the two men met three years later in the main event of WrestleMania 34.
