WWE SummerSlam: The Night Brock Lesnar Became A Beast

It is difficult to imagine that it has been four years since Lesnar dominated Cena at SummerSlam to become the unquestioned alpha male of WWE. The significance of beating at the time the most protected babyface in the company in such a dominating fashion was the ultimate notch on the belt for Lesnar.
The equivalent of beating Cena in such a lopsided fashion would be if Hulk Hogan or Stone Cold Steve Austin lost in their eras in the same way. The top babyface is not expected to be outclassed by the heel, but that is what in fact happened.
The dominating win by Lesnar would start a four year run where every superstar that challenged would eventually come up short to The Beast. Later this month will be the four year anniversary of Lesnar vs. Cena at SummerSlam, but also later this month will be Lesnar’s WWE Universal Championship defense vs. Roman Reigns.
Reigns has come up short in every other instance where he has challenged Lesnar, so the smart money you would think would be on Lesnar to win. But what if that doesn’t happen? Just like we thought four years ago with Cena vs. Lesnar that it would be a tightly contested match in which Cena would somehow overcome the odds.
What if Reigns takes control early and never relinquishes it? What if The Beast limps into his extended time away from WWE? This time around it could be Lesnar who is on the receiving side of a dominate performance.
