WWE SummerSlam 2018: 3 upset results we could see

#1. Carmella retaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship:
At SummerSlam, “The Princess Of Staten Island” has to defend her title against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat match. Now, the entire WWE Universe is confident that either Charlotte Flair, or Becky Lynch will win, but what happens if WWE shock us all and have Carmella retain?
Now out of the three women’s superstars, I would personally like to see Becky Lynch get the moment that she’s fought so hard for and win the championship. We all know however what WWE is like with Charlotte Flair. Now, I’ll save this for a different article but all I’ll say is, she’s pushed too much in my opinion and she doesn’t need the championship.
But, could WWE do the unthinkable, could Carmella actually walk away as the winner? I would honestly take Carmella over Charlotte right now as the champion. For example, could Asuka be the one to dethrone Carmella? It could be a great way to go, and provide a huge shock for everybody watching both in the stadium and on PPV. It would really surprise me however if WWE decided to go this route. When you honestly think about it, Carmella could be in the match to take the pinfall. Would they devalue Becky’s momentum? I don’t think so. Would they make the Queen officially take the loss? It’s WWE so definitely not. So imagine if Carmella actually retained?
SummerSlam is looking to be a really interesting night, with a mediocre card for one of their big 4, but there’s still some big matches and WWE can still turn it into a fantastic PPV, pulling off some huge upsets is the way to do that. We’ll have to see what happens next Sunday, but an upset or 3 could definitely be up WWE’s sleeve.
