Renee Young made history on Monday night by joining the announce team, becoming the first woman to call a full episode of Raw.

Young joined Michael Cole and Corey Graves, while Jonathan Coachman was away on other business. Young seemingly fit in perfectly with the Raw crew and delivered an unsurprisingly strong showing. Her work even caught the attention of some of her peers in the wrestling community.

Hall of Famer Mick Foley is no stranger to the pressure of being a member of the announce team and he made sure to make his opinion known on Young’s placement on the Raw team.

Her Total Divas castmate Nia Jax tried to get her Twitter following behind her with the hashtag “RawisRenee” to show her appreciation for Young’s fantastic work.

A couple of Young’s fellow backstage announcers, Cathy Kelley and Mike Rome, chimed in with nothing but positive feedback for their friend and colleague.

Even James Ellsworth, with whom Young interacted with multiples times on Talking Smack, gave his best to the first-time Raw announcer.

Lita knows all about making history on Monday Night Raw. She main evented with Trish Stratus in a classic bout for the Women’s Title in 2004. She had to chime in to congratulate Renee Young for joining them in the history books.

It’s safe to say she made quite the impression with the WWE Universe as well.

Renee Young had a jam-packed episode of Raw to call and it was fitting that the first bit of action that she was apart of was a strong opening from Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss.

She also got to call the Raw Tag Team Championship match, Paul Heyman’s swerve of Roman Reigns and Ruby Riott’s victory over Sasha Banks.

That being said, Young had many highlights throughout the show, especially when she did not back down from her counterparts, Corey Graves and Michael Cole. After they tried to make light of Tyler Breeze during his match with Constable Baron Corbin, Young defended the Gorgeous One and all of his fans who know what he is capable when she responded, “Tyler Breeze is an unsung hero in WWE.” Yeah, she gets it.

If you didn’t think Renee Young’s night on commentary could get any better, her first night on the Raw announce team ended with the return of her husband, Dean Ambrose.

It truly was a fitting ending to a solid night of action on the go-home episode of Raw. There’s no telling if her performance will lead to more opportunities calling matches, but here’s hoping this isn’t the last of Renee Young behind the announce table.
