The Beginning of the End of the New Day

Last week the New Day and The Bar tore the “house that AJ Styles built” down.

The teams always have great matches, but last week was on another level. The two teams had a back and forth slobberknocker that left everyone on the edge of their seats and got the New Day one of the loudest pops they have received in a long time. Honestly, it was probably the loudest pop, over a tag team match, since the Hardy Boyz returned at WrestleMania 33.

Earning a shot at the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles is a huge opportunity, and a horrible opportunity all in one, as the Bludgeon Brothers await the New Day at SummerSlam.

While the Bludgeon Brothers title reign, that started at WrestleMania, has been somewhat lackluster, seeing the New Day get another title reign may not be a great thing. They’ve had so many, and while they are always entertaining, keeping the New Day together for too long could be bad for those involved.

Big E, Kofi, and Xavier Woods are all at the top of their game, and while they are magic together, seeing them split and take on a new singles runs could be a great new storyline for the blue brand.

Look to see the beginning of the end of the New Day happen tonight with the Bludgeon Brothers attack.
