WWE SmackDown Live: Five Predictions For Pre-SummerSlam Show
Jeff Hardy Gets the Upper Hand Going Into SummerSlam
In recent weeks Hardy has went from being United States Champion to being blindsided by Randy Orton on multiple occasions. Orton and Nakamura seem to have an unspoken, unsure, friendship between them since both seem to have one goal in mind, beating up Jeff Hardy.
This week though, look for Hardy to get the upper hand. Not in a huge way, I expect Nakamura to interfere in Jeff’s match, and cause a disqualification, leading to Hardy throwing Nakamura out of the ring.
Their match SummerSlam has the potential to be the match of the night, and steal the show. As long as no one interferes, and Shinsuke doesn’t cheat to win.
As good as Raw was last night, I still look for SmackDown to once again have the better episode. Their storylines seem to have more of a personal touch to them, and that makes for a more invested fan. While the Raw storylines are good, they are all only aiming at just winning the title. Save for the Ronda vs Alexa match, none of them feel personal.
Whereas with SmackDown, AJ is not only defending the title, but also defending his family. Becky is fighting to prove that she is better than Charlotte and deserves to be Women’s Champion, instead of just her friend’s sidekick. And even though Orton doesn’t actually have a match at SummerSlam, his disdain for Hardy, and subsequently the fans, feels very real.
