The New Day vs. Sanity
Big E starts the match off against Eric Young with a little dance, because the crowd is chanting “Happy Birthday” to Kofi Kingston. And no, Kofi isn’t 51, Corey Graves, he’s 37. (Corey is just too ridiculous sometimes!)
Kofi showed off his talent, too, with a nasty DDT counter on Killian Dain, and the ensuing hot tag from Xavier Woods against Alexander Wolfe was also brilliant. Woods was so fired up, and he got the crowd going crazy with him.
Woods nearly had the match won, but Young broke up the pin on Wolfe at 2.99999 with a top-rope elbow drop. Young followed that up with a DVD on Wolfe’s knees for a near-fall.
Air Kofi struck again, wiping out Wolfe and Young, leaving Dain in the ring with Big E and Xavier Woods. An UpUpDownDown later, and The New Day punched a big win on the road to the Bludgeon Brothers at SummerSlam.
Grade: B+, No matter how many times they face, the New Day and Sanity can always pull out insane moves to make their matches feel special. This was a great TV match, as The New Day killed it for a second straight week. This tag team division is on fire.
