AJ Styles’s Statement To Samoa Joe

Styles says that the WWE Championship is so hard to hold, because the champion is put under an immense amount of pressure when they have the title. He says that the pressure Samoa Joe has put on him started when Joe attacked him from behind weeks ago, putting him in the Coquina Clutch without warning to name himself as AJ’s challenger for the WWE Title at SummerSlam.

He addressed the comments Joe made about Styles being a bad father and husband, bringing up comments his wife made to him about needing to stay focused. And just then, Joe decided to come out, decked in his suit, and he was indeed there to, as he told Paige, do whatever he damn well pleases.

Joe pulled a note from the inside of his suit. He has a message from AJ’s wife that he reads out loud, which is just a bunch of bogus (as expected). Wendy says that Styles is a great champion because he’ll do anything to stay away from his family. She writes that she hopes Styles loses the WWE Championship on Sunday so that he knows what it feels like to lose what he loves the most.

Brutal.

Grade: C, Not a bad way to build to the match at SummerSlam, but it was kind of hokey. I thought they could have done more here, especially with Joe and Styles.
