Kona Reeves hasn’t exactly had a fine time since he made his return to NXT, making an overture of friendship to the Top One Percent — only for EC3 to hand him a loss in the ring days later. He’s got the skill and the attitude, but “The Finest” is still rough around the edges, and Stokely Hathaway could be exactly the help Kona needs to smooth his path to the NXT Championship.

Sure, Reeves has a bit of a chip on his shoulder, but nobody knows what it’s like to have your hard work go under appreciated like Stokely Hathaway. Big Stoke and Reeves could be kindred spirits: two hard-working and determined men whose only problem is being unwilling to compromise when it comes to what they know they’re worth.

Reeves is still finding his path in NXT, and no amount of positive affirmation will be enough on its own to overcome the challenges he faces in the likes of EC3, the Velveteen Dream, and certainly NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa. NXT is full of strong personalities, and having a manager as charismatic and skilled on the mic as Stokely Hathaway by his side could keep Reeves from getting lost in the shuffle until he truly comes into his own.
