3. The New Day vs. SAnitY

The tag team division on Tuesday nights has been controlled by the destructive duo of Harper and Rowan for the past several months.  But one of the most successful tag teams in WWE history will look to change all of that with the power of positivity.

A tag team title tournament took place in weeks past on SmackDown with the final round coming down to The New Day and The Bar.  And in arguably a match of the year candidate, The New Day earned the right to battle The Bludgeon Brothers at SummerSlam for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

Last night saw The New Day get a big tuneup match against recent rivals SAnitY in six-man tag team action.  In no real surprise, these teams put on another stellar match that would have been even better had it gone on a little longer.  The creativity these teams put forth every time they battle is always impressive and the same could be said for last night’s encounter as well.

The ending did seem like a foregone conclusion, however, and that rung true when The New Day got the win to gain even more momentum heading into Sunday.  It should be interesting, to say the least, to see if Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods can handle what Harper and Rowan bring to the table.  After all, The Bludgeon Brothers have run roughshod over the blue brand in recent months.

Will The Bludgeon Brothers succumb to the power of positivity at SummerSlam?  SAnitY did last night in a stellar tag team match that gave The New Day a boost heading into the biggest party of the summer.

Final Grade: B+
