3. Dolph Ziggler’s Reign Has Plenty Of Life Left In It

Dolph Ziggler is currently in a three-way tie—along with Jeff Jarrett and Rob Van Dam—for the second-most reigns as Intercontinental Champion. Despite this, all of his reigns—except his first—have lasted less than two months.

Ziggler’s back-and-forth wars with The Miz over the championship are largely responsible for the number of his stints with Intercontinental gold. His current reign in just days shy of exceeding four of his other five.

Even though Ziggler hasn’t been champ for that long, the difference the Intercontinental title—along with the presence of Drew McIntyre—has made for his predicament is noticeable. Ziggler’s promo on Raw exemplifies what a revelation the former World champion has been on the microphone lately. He’s also getting featured spots every week compared how few and far between his opportunities came on SmackDown.

Ziggler admittedly had some bright spots on SmackDown but on Raw, his highlights already include winning the Intercontinental Championship and main eventing Extreme Rules, his first one-on-one pay-per-view main event in nearly six years.

Ziggler has the potential to make his sixth reign as champ one of the all-time great reigns in history but thus far, he has only defeated Seth Rollins to retain his championship. With the number of top tier babyfaces on Raw‘s roster as well as the possible callups from NXT after TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, Ziggler and McIntyre can stack the deck against the former’s possible challengers for months to come.
