The WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 match card is as loaded as any TakeOver special, as every single match that will take place tonight has a chance to steal the show from the Last Man Standing match between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.

Most of 2018’s best shows have been NXT TakeOver specials, and the NXT Universe is understandably as excited as ever for WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4. Although Aleister Black’s injury bounced him out of the main event, a Last Man Standing match for the NXT Championship between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa is more than “good enough”.

Gargano and Ciampa have been the biggest story in NXT since their first match at TakeOver: New Orleans over WrestleMania weekend, but the other matches on tonight’s show will also tell excellent stories.

Shayna Baszler has been bullying the NXT Women’s Division for months, as she became the self-proclaimed leader of the division when she defeated Ember Moon for the title in April. But standing in her way this time is a defiant Kairi Sane, who already beat her in the finals of the Mae Young Classic last year. Baszler is one of the best heels in WWE, and Sane is one of WWE’s best babyfaces. Nobody should be sleeping on this match.

And nobody should be sleeping on Moustache Mountaine vs. Undisputed Era either. These two tag teams have teared the house down all summer long, including an emotionally gut-wrenching match in July on NXT Television in which Tyler Bate threw in the towel for his tag team partner Trent Seven.

EC3 vs. Velveteen Dream has massive show-stealing potential. These are two of the most talented talkers, characters, and wrestlers in the entire business, and their confrontation on the TakeOver go-home show was an exceptional example of their talent.

But Ricochet vs. Adam Cole has a chance to be even better. These two were standouts in the North American Championship Ladder Match in New Orleans this year. Ricochet is the most dynamic athlete in WWE, and that is high praise, considering all the wrestlers who earn paychecks from WWE. Meanwhile, Cole is as good as advertised, even if his work has become somewhat understated due to the sheer amount of talent on the NXT roster.

NXT has just five matches on this TakeOver special, but these are five special matches that will likely tell gripping stories. The hype meter is off-the-charts for tonight’s show, so I wouldn’t plan on missing a second of it.

You can check back here for live highlights, grades, and analysis at 7 p.m. ET when the show starts. Note that there is a one-hour pre-show that begins at 6:00 p.m. ET.
