War Games is less than a month away and the teams in the two-ring cage match have been finalized. The MLW World Heavyweight Title will be defended with more to come as the weeks tick down!

With the breaking news and events of tonight’s show, we now know that the teams are now fully set for MLW War Games. We’ll see Shane Strickland, Kotto Brazil, Barrington Hughes, John Hennigan and Tommy Dreamer head into battle against Sami Callihan, Leon Scott, Fulton, Jimmy Havoc and Abyss. Callihan’s team certainly has the advantage in the realm of viciousness with Havoc and Abyss joining the team. With their histories, those two men have shown that they could probably handle themselves in a War Games match if it were 5-on-2 – with Callihan and his Death machines by their side, they may be unstoppable.

The MLW World Heavyweight Title picture is now clear with Low Ki’s victory over Hennigan tonight. On September 6 in Fort Lauderdale, Ki will defend the title against Rey Fenix. Fenix is fresh off of separating from Low Ki’s business partner Salina de La Renta and is already seeing the dividends of his alignment with Konnan pay off. Fenix has a chance to become a double-champion in MLW by adding the World Heavyweight Title to the MLW World Tag Team Title already around his waist.

PCO and Brody King will meet in what will probably be one of the ugliest matches of the night. I say that with every fiber of my being counting down the seconds until the bell rings to let these two behemoth madmen tear each other apart. PCO has been one of the strangest and greatest indie revival stories of the year (perhaps of all time?) and Brody King became one of my favorites to watch after first seeing him at WrestleCircus in Austin, Texas. Can King put an end to the run of the man who is not human?

In another clash between Salina de La Renta and Konnan, de La Renta will enlist LA Park to take on one half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions, Pentagon Jr in a Mexican Massacre match. I haven’t seen the rules for what a Mexican Massacre match is but with LA Park and Pentagon involved you can probably rest assured that you’ll see mask-ripping, blood, and at least one broken arm. This could easily steal what is already looking to be a stacked show.

The MLW World Middleweight Champion MJF, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, The Hart Foundation, ACH and Rich Swann are all announced for the card as well, though their matches have not yet come to light. Next week on MLW Fusion we’ll see The Lucha Bros defend the MLW World Tag Team Titles against the team of ACH and Rich Swann while The Dirty Blondes lock up with Team Filthy’s Simon Gotch and Fred Yehi.
