Cody Rhodes reveals a ‘Real Offer’ was made to CM Punk for All In

On September 1st, the biggest independent wrestling show will take place in Chicago, Illinois with ‘All In’; ran by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks. However, an offer was made to an ex-wrestler everyone is talking about- CM Punk.

Today, Cody Rhodes spoke to Wrestling Inc’s Raj Giri, and stated that Matt Jackson approached CM Punk with an offer to make an appearance at All In on September 1st. However, whilst Punk is already confirmed for a meet-and-greet in collaboration the day prior with ‘All In’, he declined Jackson’s offer.

The tickets to Punk’s event sold out in 30 seconds and a walk-up option had to be added so it is clear why both Rhodes and the Young Bucks wanted Punk to appear at the event itself.

Jackson allegedly made an overture to Punk but the real life Phil Brooks turned him down to focus more on UFC and his MMA training in general. Cody explained that he felt it would be good for Punk to appear at the show in order to “connect with the fans again”.

He, however, goes on to state, “Matt had reached out to him and made him a real offer. I think Punk is set on not being part of it.”

Cody then would go onto discuss how he wants ‘All In’ to be a landmark event that showcases wrestling present and future; not just a show of ‘cheap pops’.

The idea of Punk appearing at All In, in any capacity, was initially supported by the decision to hold the event in Punk’s home town of Chicago. However, it is clear to see by Cody’s comments in this interview that this will not be taking place but he is confident the event will be a huge success.

‘All In’ will air September 1st and is available on Honor Club, FiteTV and WGN America.
