Was Brock Lesnar REALLY WWE’s Worst Universal Champion?

Well, it’s over. It’s finally over. After a record setting 504 days as the reigning defending Undisputed Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar has finally been conquered. Love it or hate it, Roman Reigns is our new Universal Champion, and Lesnar’s reign ends as the worst Universal Champion of all time. But is he really?
Over this past summer, WWE have openly acknowledged Lesnar’s lack of a presence on their flagship brand, despite being their top champion. The acknowledgement has manifested a storyline with urgency. A storyline where Raw wrestlers were anxious to challenge Brock and defeat him for the belt just so that the title rests in the hands of a full time WWE Superstar. WWE even went as far as to have Kurt Angle call him “the worst Universal Champion of all time.”
Whether or not Brock Lesnar was a good or bad champion is debatable, but to decide if he was actually the worst champion yet, we just need to look at the champions who came before him. Which is not hard at all, considering there have been only four wrestlers in the history of WWE to call themselves Universal Champion, including Brock Lesnar himself.
With that information in mind, let’s break it down, compare, and contrast each Universal Champion’s reign from each other from the first champion to the current champion. By the end of it all, we should know exactly who the worst Universal Champion really is, as well as who is the very best.
Since Roman Reigns literally just won this title–and as of this writing hasn’t vacated it yet–he’s exempt from our judgement.
