5: Randy Orton Finishes Jeff Hardy

For weeks now Orton has attacked perennial fan favorite Jeff Hardy, and the only reason he gave for the repeated attacks was that the fans liked Hardy, and didn’t respect Orton.

After Hardy’s match at SummerSlam against for the United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, that ended after Hardy tried a Swanton Bomb onto the apron, only for Nakamura to move out of the way at the last second. Nakamura followed that up with a Kinshasha and pinned Hardy to retain the U.S. Title.

With Hardy down in the ring, obviously hurt from the failed Swanton, and with Nakamura standing over him, Orton’s music hit, and he started to walk towards the ring. As he reached the end of the ramp though he stopped, shook his head, and walked back up the ramp.

It’s no secret that Hardy has been working hurt for some time now, and many fans expected WWE to take him off TV shortly after Extreme Rules, and when Orton attacked him in his rematch with Nakamura just a few days removed from the event, everyone thought that was going to be when.

So, when Orton came out last night everyone once again thought that this was going to be the last time we saw the Charismatic Enigma for a while. But, Orton left Hardy alone, and Hardy actually stood up and clapped after Orton disappeared.

Judging by Orton’s words after SummerSlam though, we may not have to wait long for Orton to finally take care of Jeff Hardy. While Hell in a Cell is the most likely destination for the pair to finally end their feud, I’m hoping they end it before, because we all know Jeff Hardy will probably jump off the top of the Cell if given the opportunity.
