WWE SmackDown Results, Highlights, And Grades For August 21, 2018
Miz/Paige Promo
The Miz confronts the WWE SmackDown Live GM after hearing that he’ll be in a mixed tag match at Hell in a Cell. He says that Paige is a worse GM than Daniel Bryan, which is quite a shocking statement, considering the fact that Miz seemed to believe Bryan was the worst GM ever. Like, even worse than Matt Millen, and he wasn’t even a GM in WWE.
Anyway, the mixed tag match is staying. Way to suck up to the boss, Miz!
Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton
For a month, Randy Orton has terrorized Jeff Hardy, as he’s dead set on erasing this man’s history. He wants to end Jeff’s career, because he hates Hardy for all the love he gets from the fans. This rivalry is as personal as any we’ve seen in recent memory.
Orton dropped Jeff on the announce table during the break to really swing the advantage in his favor, but he wasn’t done yet. He dropped him on the announce table for a second time, working at a slow pace, perfectly willing to knock the wind out of Hardy’s sails with slo and painful punishment.
After taking his time, Orton threw Hardy back in the ring, and hit him with a disrespectful cover, solely to take more energy out of the Charismatic Enigma. And then, he went for some stomps.
Hardy tries to get back in it with a Whisper in the Wind, finally showing signs of life against the dastardly Orton.

He even hits a Twist of Fate, but he fails to follow it up with a Swanton Bomb, as Orton snuffs him out on the top rope. Orton gives us a grotesque flashback, digging into Hardy’s ear. And Hardy gets his revenge with a stomp to the nuts for a DQ finish.
Hardy blows up, beating the hell out of Orton outside the ring right after stomping him down low. The two of them start fighting in the production area of Barclays Center, with Hardy stopping at no length to destroy Orton. He hits him with everything! The steel chair is his main weapon of choice here, too.
And to finish it all off, Jeff Hardy hit Orton with a monstrous Swanton Bomb onto a table!
Grade: A, This was awesome. Man, I love this feud! Jeff Hardy, with his monstrous Swanton and low blow stomp, showed that he’s just as insane as Randy Orton, if not crazier. I can’t wait to see these two fight at Hell in a Cell, preferably inside the structure itself. These two can’t stand each other, and now Hardy wants to destroy Orton as badly as The Viper wants to vanquish him.
