Becky Lynch Explains
No high fives. Nothing. Becky Lynch came out with a scowl on her face, stating that SummerSlam was supposed to be about HER and only HER. It was supposed to be her time for her to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The crowd, of course, cheered all of this, starting a “Becky!” chant as she spoke.
Becky ranted about how the WWE Universe is “all opinions and no action”, stating that they didn’t send her tweets or anything. She said there was no hashtag, no people talking about her etc. etc. None of this is true, because she’s always acknowledged the fans.
I get that WWE wants to stifle the positive reactions towards Becky, because if she just came out and started ranting about Charlotte, she’d get loud cheers. Since people would cheer her no matter what, the best thing to do is stifle the audience as much as possible. So even thought this was an awkward promo that killed the mood, at least they achieved that. Which isn’t much of a silver lining, because they are trying to sell a title feud.
Charlotte comes out to boos, throws the title to the side after getting into a brief shouting match, and then puts the fists to Becky. Paige brings out the rest of the women’s roster to try and break this brawl up, as the officials clearly could not do this.
The brawl itself started off fantastically, as Becky and Charlotte were just throwing themselves. But then, Charlotte closed the segment with some weak lunges at Becky, and it fell apart right there.
Grade: D-, They turned the wrong person heel. Point blank. All you need to see here.
