Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Becky Lynch For The SmackDown Women’s Championship Inside The Cell

Becky Lynch seemingly turned heel on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam, beating her up after the match after Flair pinned her to take the SmackDown Women’s Championship off of Carmella. It looked like Becky had the match won with Carmella trapped in the Dis-Arm-Her, but Charlotte nailed Becky with some Natural Selection to become a seven-time women’s champion in WWE.

On SmackDown Live, Becky addressed the fans, explaining her reasons for turning heel. As expected, they cheered. The reactions for Charlotte upon her entrance were not kind, because the fans still see Becky as the babyface in this story, in spite of Becky’s actions towards Charlotte at SummerSlam. To the fans, this was a long-time coming for Charlotte, who suddenly became a part of the title match at the last minute.

Charlotte must defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a rematch next week on SmackDown Live against Carmella, but she’s fully expected to win, assuming there’s no outside interference from Becky.

These two could easily have a match inside the cell, and the same can be said for Rousey vs. Bliss. The crowd reactions to this feud have been weird, but this rivalry still feels personal in spite of the “off” reactions. Plus, you never know if the WWE could go in a different direction with the heel/face dynamic, as this is a fluid situation involving two talented performers.

I’m just excited to watch these two face off. Assuming Becky remains a heel, she needs to win, otherwise there was no point in turning her heel in the first place. I mean, the WWE should have turned Charlotte (if anyone) heel, but if they are dead set on Becky turning, she should win.

Prediction: Becky Lynch
