3. Becky Lynch Segment

One of the most surprising developments that came out of SummerSlam involved the SmackDown Women’s Championship match, namely Becky Lynch.  The Irish Lass Kicker was desparate to win the championship in a Triple Threat Match alongside Carmella and Charlotte Flair, but when she failed to get the job done, she snapped.

Her friend Charlotte pulled out the win instead to become a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, but Lynch couldn’t pretend she was OK with it and she attacked Charlotte after the match.  Last night gave Lynch the opportunity to explain herself and she addressed her actions at SummerSlam as only a heel would.

She said that Charlotte stole the moment from her and it was supposed to be her time.  She also said Charlotte deserved the beating she got and that the fans have never really been in her corner.  But the new SmackDown Women’s Champion had heard enough and she came out enraged at Lynch.  The two would begin to brawl with most of the women’s roster in the back coming out to try and stop it.

But honestly, this segment didn’t quite click like it should have.  Some of Lynch’s words didn’t make a lot of sense and the brawl didn’t feel convincing enough.  Many fans believe turning Lynch heel won’t work and that Charlotte is the one that should have turned heel instead.  Only time will tell how this situation turns out.

The Irish Lass Kicker has put her babyface virtues aside for now and The Queen was having none of it last night.
