2. Rusev And Lana vs. Andrade Cien Almas And Zelina Vega
The WWE universe was able to see two SummerSlam rematches last night with the first coming in mixed tag team action. The storyline between Rusev and Andrade Cien Almas has been going on for several weeks now with Lana and Zelina Vega involved as well as Aiden English, who’s been trying to get back in Rusev’s good graces.
Rusev and Lana lost to Almas and Vega at SummerSlam on the kickoff show, but they would get another opportunity last night. Unlike SummerSlam, the Rusev Day camp would make sure a loss wouldn’t take place this time. The match started out a bit slow, but it turned out much better than the initial few minutes.
Both sides of this mixed tag match got moments in, but towards the end when Almas was trying to sneak a chair shot in on Rusev, English intervened from out of nowhere to take the chair from Almas. And for the first time in several weeks, English’s interference on behalf of Rusev paid off and The Bulgarian Brute would take advantage and make Almas tap out.
It appears as if English is back on track with Rusev and Lana and that’s what fans want to see. The idea of English turning heel on Rusev is still out there, but they work so well together that it would be tough to see them feuding with each other. It will be interesting to see where this development goes next.
Rusev Day is alive and well and it seems like everything is getting back to the way it’s supposed to be.
Final Grade: B
