1. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

The blue brand’s tag team division has been pretty superb for months now, but it had been led by an unstoppable duo since WrestleMania 34.  The Bludgeon Brothers won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at the showcase of the immortals and every team that got in their way since had been disposed of.

That all began to change when The New Day joined the picture.  Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods are no strangers to tag team excellence and after defeating The Bar a couple weeks ago on SmackDown, The New Day earned the right to challenge Harper and Rowan for the tag team titles at SummerSlam. The New Day won via disqualification, but did not capture the gold.

However, that was really the first time The Bludgeon Brothers looked vulnerable and it carried over into last night’s main event when Kingston and Woods represented The New Day against Harper and Rowan with the tag team titles on the line in a no disqualification match.  The match turned out to be a highly memorable one and a great piece of storytelling at the same time.

No matter how much damage The Bludgeon Brothers did, The New Day got back up every time.  And that resilience paid off when after Rowan was taken out of the picture, Woods and Kingston would take out Harper with a patented Woods huge elbow drop, but this time through a table sitting in the ring.  That would be enough to propel The New Day to its fifth tag team title reign in one of the most memorable moments of the year so far.
