2. Trish Stratus vs Mickie James

During the fall of 2005, Mickie James would make her debut as a member of the main Raw roster, often citing herself as Trish Stratus’s biggest fan. Initially, Trish was flattered at the compliment, and showed it by often tag teaming with Mickie, taking her on in a sort of protege-lite role.

Things would get weird for Trish when Mickie started dressing like her, and even pulling off her moves in the ring. Trish would get especially creeped out when Mickie kissed her under a mistletoe on the December 26th episode of Raw. Understandably freaked out, Trish politely asked for her space, but Mickie refused to be ignored.

Mickie would attack Trish on the March 18th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. In the coming weeks, Mickie would make things personal by kidnapping her best friend Ashley Massaro. Shortly afterwards, Mickie would defeat Trish for her Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 22, in what is still considered one of WWE’s best women’s matches ever.

After losing the title, it would appear that Trish snapped, or at least tried to fight crazy with crazy. While Mickie had attempted to impersonate Trish, Trish tried to impersonate Mickie and even kidnapped her ex-boyfriend, Jack. The mind games didn’t work, as Mickie retained her title at Backlash. The feud remains one of the most intricate storylines that WWE ever pulled off for their women’s division.
