The King is Dead. Long Live The King. In October of 2017, Neville reportedly walked out of a WWE Raw taping unhappy with the direction of his character and his career trajectory. For nearly a year, Neville has been sitting on the sidelines with a frozen contract – until now. As reported by Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet, the man who revitalized WWE’s Cruiserweight division is officially free from his contract and, thus, able to work anywhere in the world. Could we see “The King of the Cruiserweights” pop up in Major League Wrestling?

In what could be the biggest free agent story of 2018, Neville has finally free from a WWE contract which he has been sitting out for the last ten months. Jeremy Thomas at 411MANIA reported that Neville had been unhappy for quite some time with issues ranging from poor pay to his overall role in the company to his match with Austin Aries being moved from the main card at WrestleMania to the pre-show. Neville single-handedly breathed life into 205 Live with his multiple reigns as the Cruiserweight Champion and he now has the opportunity to ply his wares anywhere else in the world.

Social media and wrestling news sites have been abuzz since news of Neville’s apparent release broke speculating on where Neville could show up next with everybody from The Young Bucks to Will Ospreay making vague and hopeful comments on Twitter regarding Neville’s future. Could Neville find himself ALL IN on September 2? With NJPW’s Juniors division in a state of disarray after Hiromu Takahashi relinquished the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title due to a neck injury, could “The Man That Gravity Forgot” stake his claim to recharge NJPW’s Juniors the way he did with WWE’s Cruiserweights?

Or, could Neville return to the region where he first gained notoriety as a WWE-contracted wrestler? Before Neville was ever Cruiserweight Champion, he lit up NXT as the NXT Champion with a near-300 day reign in the company’s Florida-based branch. Perhaps Neville will return to the place where his main exposure to mainstream wrestling fans started and set his sights on another growing brand – Major League Wrestling.

MLW relaunched itself in July of 2017 with the announcement of One-Shot, an event which was Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso noted was to have been a “one-off event.” After riding high on the success of the event, MLW rolled its way into a television deal with beIN Sports. MLW’s weekly Fusion show broadcasts on beIN with episodes also being uploaded to MLW’s official YouTube channel. In making itself so accessible and available to fans all over the world, this could be the perfect way for Neville to reintroduce him to the independent and international wrestling scene.

So, where could Neville potentially fit in the current landscape of MLW and what are the possible dream matches waiting for him? Let’s break down the top 5 spots into which Neville could insert himself in Major League Wrestling!
