How Neville Could Fit Into MLW

No stranger to tag team wrestling, Neville has a history with notable partners like Roderick Strong, Dragon Kid and BxB Hulk. With a tag team division still looking to find its legs, Neville could focus the division and draw in new challengers.

Lucha Bros have been unstoppable in Major League Wrestling so far. As the inaugural champions of the new era of MLW, Pentagon and Fenix have proudly carried the titles for nearly 3 months. Most recently they shot down the hopes of ACH and Rich Swann to capture the titles on Fusion in a fantastic effort by the challengers. At this point, though, where do Pentagon and Fenix go? Who is left on the MLW roster to challenge for the World Tag Team Titles?

The Dirty Blondes have found themselves locked into a war with Team Filthy as Colonel Robert Parker’s Stud Stable seem hell-bent on destroying “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and company. By proxy, any combination of Lawlor, Simon Gotch and Fred Yehi have their minds on things other than the MLW World Tag Team Titles at the moment.

Similarly, Sami Callihan’s Death Machines are set for actual war when ten men will be locked into the two-ring steel cage on September 6 at War Games. Leon Scott and Fulton have been working together to solidify themselves as a unit in MLW, though until this point they have been serving as muscle for Callihan as he looks to ruin the career of former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Shane Strickland.

Barrington Hughes and Kotto Brazil could provide a night-and-day combination of size and speed, though they need to take care of Callihan alongside their team leader Strickland if they have any hopes of surviving War Games. Finally, the Kodokushi Death Squad of Su Yung and Zeda Zhang have made their presence known over the last several weeks on Fusion by attacking and laying out several wrestlers. They have yet to set foot in the ring in a legitimate match on Fusion and it remains to be seen if MLW will promote intergender matches or if we’ll see the rise of an MLW Women’s Division in the near future.

With so many teams caught up in their own drama, this could be the perfect opportunity for outside forces to swoop in and demand a shot at the richest prize for tag teams in MLW. The question then becomes, “Who would Neville choose as a partner?”

One name on the current MLW roster stands out as someone who has recent history with Neville. Despite just coming off of a loss to Lucha Bros alongside ACH, Rich Swann shares the same experience as Neville in competing on 205 Live. While the two present wildly different personalities, they could find common ground with championship accolades in sight.

Neville could bring his own partner from outside of the walls of MLW as well. Yet another former star of the WWE’s Cruiserweight division has made quite a name for himself back on the independent scene since his departure. He also has a history with the MLW World Tag Team Champions, battling both men in Impact Wrestling. If Neville were to recruit “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” Austin Aries as his partner, they could be an unstoppable force against the other teams on the roster.
