How Neville Could Fit Into MLW

Neville is going to be one of the hottest commodities on the planet as companies from all over the globe vie to welcome him into the wings. For most companies, I’m sure, the allure will be one-off dream matches to draw crowds. In MLW, the list of dream matches for “The King of the Cruiserweights” goes on and on.
The MLW roster is already brimming with potential dream matches and when a new face enters the fray, the dream bookers in all of us come out to play. While I would love to see Neville enjoy a long stay in MLW, which would only help to continue building the brand, there is the chance that he could pop up for a handful of shows here and there before settling in one place. That’s all fine and dandy as well – because the prospective matches for Neville are tantalizing.
Low Ki
According to CAGEMATCH, Neville and the current MLW World Heavyweight Champion Low Ki have met only twice in the past. In both encounters, Neville (then known as PAC) came out on the losing end to “The Professional” in Dragon Gate USA. It has been six years since those encounters and both men have grown wildly since then, particularly Neville. Putting these two men in the ring without restrictions could produce an easy match-of-the-year contender.
Lucha Bros
I’m including Pentagon and Fenix as a unit since they currently hold the MLW World Tag Team Titles, but this is a real two-for-the-price-of-one situation. A one-on-one match with either of these guys would be a completely mind-blowing experience. There is exactly zero doubt in my mind that a match between Neville and Pentagon Jr or Fenix would be talked about for weeks after the fact. By the same token, with the right partner the chances of a classic increase exponentially. Neville has proven that he can wrestle in and adapt to any style, and the arm-breaking, high-flying methods of Penta and Fenix would be a joy to see him adapt to.
Shane Strickland
Strickland, like a handful of others currently enjoying success on the independent scene, received perhaps his greatest level of mainstream exposure as a part of Lucha Underground where he has competed as Killshot. For diehards, Strickland also rose to prominence in Combat Zone Wrestling. Swerve has since made a name for himself in various indies all over the world by proving that he can bring it every single night. The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion has something to prove as he looks to fight his way back from losing the title and a 5-star match with Neville could put him back on track toward the top title in the company.
PCO
Everybody loves a good spectacle. PCO has been on an insane career resurgence over the past year or so competing with some of the brightest stars of the time. While Neville doesn’t find himself in exactly the same position as PCO, he will be looking to reestablish himself as a name whenever he finally laces up his boots to step into a ring again. My mind can’t even begin to fathom what a match between these two would look like, but I know for sure that it’d be a ridiculous amount of fun.
Wherever Neville winds up will be a truly blessed place. There is no guarantee that he hangs his hat in any single company or even hits the scene any time soon. However, just days after news of his release from WWE become public the internet has been clamoring for him to come to every independent and foreign promotion on the planet. The world is going to be in Neville’s hands as he looks to shake off a WWE run that took a nose-dive when it should have soared. My fingers are crossed that “The Man That Gravity Forgot” makes a Major League decision sooner than later.
